Hi all

Anyone know where I could get a new wiper motor for my 1994 Chimaera? I've loooked at the parts list on Chimaera pages and searched Google for 'Lucas Type 17', 'wiper motor' and 'Lucas 60027021A' etc and I'm getting nowhere.

Grateful for any help.

Thanks

sapper

Pretty sure its this type, its fairly common over lots of vehicles.
Worst case it swapping the gear over so they park in the correct position.

The Item on ebay is the 14 watt version of the motor, the TVR uses a 29 watt version and the 14watt unit will not fit, I now have these as exchange remanufactured units.

This is from memory so check...

As previsouly stated I also think this motor is fitted to several vehicles and like i say from memory, I think triumphs have been mentioned...TRs and / or spitfires...?

may be worth doing a pistonheads search...

You will find that these 29 watt motors where never fitted to any other car (the generic item with the wrong internal gears and degree of wipe was fitted to a 70` Jagaur in the past but that is as far as it goes and even then the park switch is different). The Triumphs run 14w motors the gearbox/gears/conrod outer casing are all smaller...the 14 watt park switch was used in the TVR application (hense, the weakness as it is running on a 29 watt motor).

Remanufactured...exchange, as the main casings are obsolete, the root problem with the 30 odd units that I have with me was that the amatures having burnt out, the gears melted in the heat. Adrian@
