Brake Upgrade

Just had the front brakes upgraded (Chim 500) by Castlesport near Gatwick. Tarox grooved rotors, Mintex 1144 pads, Goodrich braided hoses. £320 all-in fitted.
Vast improvement over standard, very pleased and would thoroughly recommend Castlesport and the upgrade.
Made Folembray even better!

I ran 1144 for a while, they are OK (cheap, and pretty good high temperature performance) but don't have much bite under gentle braking. Tarox XF is better from that point of view and has slightly better high temp performance.

Thanks for the tip Peter, I'll try those next - although as for gentle braking bite when I picked the car up and braked for the first time at a T-junction I nearly went through the windscreen when I applied what I normally thought of as 'gentle ' pressure.
