Chimaera 4.0 novice - can anyone recommend high performance driving course(road and track) so I can get the best out of my car as at the moment bit scared of sliding it and not knowing what to do! I live in North West but don't mind travelling.
Thanks a lot.

Don palmers 'wetter the better' is quite good. I tried it last year in my chim. The whole day spent sliding around. Expensive though, £300, but great fun. Ted gets you a discount too

I can recommend International Drivers Club - www.id-club.com - who mostly use Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground near Leicester. It is a safe environment for the car being an airfield track with acres of grass runoff and provides the driver with every opportunity to learn and experience the car.

You are given 1 to 1 intensive training for 2.5 hours in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and you benefit from enthusiastic support. The tuition is given by Jay Shepherd (of TVR Tuscan Challenge) and Martin Polley and costs £250.

Be warned though, it is extremely difficult to get the grin off your face afterwards and it can become habit forming. Best of luck, you will enjoy it.

Browsing through a few mags there appears to be a choice of:- Don Palmers Driving Development www.drivingdevelopment.co.uk based in Maidenhead, HPC based around Millbrook, Chobham and MIRA on 01858 545946 and Ride Drive www.ridedrive.co.uk in the TVRCC Sprint mag.

Not done any of these so comments would be welcome. Rich...

I did a half-day course in July with RideDrive. Very professional, good instruction...increases awareness of everything ! Going on an 8-hour Advanced Road & Track day tomorrow with RideDrive again...will be exhausting, but am looking forward to it. Will post news when I get back !

I did my training at work with DriveTech who I think are in Berkshire somewhere and I have done track outings with Drive and Survive.

Dont have any details as I didnt arrange it but the tuition was very good both times.
