I was thinking of buying a geodesy for use in the Chimaera. Not sure where to put it! Thinking of drivers door pocket so it can plug into the cigarette lighter. Will it work OK there and will I be able to see/hear it? I don't particularly want it up on top of the dash. Are they easy to fit or should I get the dealer to do it? Anybody using one of these?

I do have a geodesey and a chimaera, but as i have a second car i use it in my main car, not sure how you could put this in the chimaera because as you rightly say the cig. lighter is on the drivers door, i would hard wire it in and put the thing on top of the dash, coz you can't really put it any where else. sorry for no help at all really!

Get it done professionally. I have a Godesey in my BMW. If its all wired in it looks smarter and you can put it almost anywhere.

Mines is hard wired in the Chimaera.
The GPS unit has to see vertically up through the screen so the dash top is the only real place to put it, unless you buy the remote arial.
The wire can be pushed down the break in the dash top near the screen and down into the passenger footwell and then connected directly to the battery, you may need a bit of extra wire, I used speaker cable after talking to Geodosy, and have had no problems in 6 months.

Mine's in the same place as raceboy's but wired into the fag lighter. That's a cigarette lighter for our trans-Atlantic cousins, not what you think...

Thanks for the comments. I'll get it fitted professionally and perhaps put it under the dash to the left of the steering column where I can see it. Will probably need a re-radiating aerial in this case, I presume. Perhaps they'll start painting the cameras fluorescent yellow and I won't need it!!
