Just popped out to the car to investigate whether or not I had a "fernies flap" (see www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=3990&f=8&h=0) and noticed a strange red plug knob under the rear arch, right up near the rear bulkhead. Gave it a pull, and the driver's door popped open.

Now if this is an emergency door release, it does seem to pose a bit of a "chicken and egg" situation as if you're unable to open the driver's door, how the hell do you get the boot open in the first place? Or am I missing something?

Cheers!
Jon

Its true, its all part of the 'B*gger, I seem to have locked the keys in the car' solution.

It's ok - I'm now one of the "chosen few" who have been given "the knowledge".

The helpful chaps over on the TVRCC Yahoo group have emailed me (direct, of course) with info.

Shhhhhhhhhhh.

I keep the manual in the space behind the seats....... in the car I'm locked out of presumably!!

I read about this lever in the manual too and had the same thought as jonrb- I'm obviously missing something.

Haven't got Fernies flap or pictures in the manual of getting the roof in

What's meant to happen is that the dealer or previous owner explains this stuff just before you roar off in a cloud of dust, leaving nothing but the vague impression of a five mile wide grin.

E-mail me from my profile if you're still "missing something" though.
