My 1999 chim already blows warm/hot air through right hand vent. Have they changed the spec?

Depends if the car is running hot - stuck on A1 last night for 30 minutes. Car running at 90 and had the fans running on manual override. Have the footwell fan on to try and improve things, all it does is suck that lovely hot air from just outside into the car.

Cold air blower - pahh. Hot air blower melting your shoes, Yes....

Cheers,

Paul

The one on the right on my car is a Ram air vent and only blows cold. Switch underneath on right hand side to turn it off.. Then open the vent under the sterring wheel on the left to vent some nice engine heat...

I'm well confused now. This and other threads have suggested that the RHS vent is plumbed in differently to the others. I'm pretty sure that before I removed the RHS vent to get at the dashboard's retaining stud, the RHS vent blew hot too. The plastic vent is coupled to a corrugated pipe by a cloth sock. That corrugated pipe is stuck inside another larger diameter pipe that then dissapears into the central dash area. All the joints are sealed with gaffer tape. Without this tape being properly attached, the system will bleed air all over the place. I haven't got round to wrecking my back by retaping all the joints, so it is no suprise that I don't get much air or heat out of that vent. But I'm fairly sure I used to.

I'll check my tape/seal condition, mine's a 95 chimp on an N plate, the vent is suppossed to be cold air, I would like to change it to warm, has any body converted, if so whats the easiest way, if not, I will tell you how to do it soon. I Find the vent utterly useless seeing as this country is only warm for 2 weeks a year and the roof is off for that! The later Tivs have hot air I think, would someone have a look if poss and post a reply, TA

Come the summer you'll be glad of the cold air blowing (well cooler air). I'd just the far RH vents in the winter and open them in the warm weather.

Forgot to mention - on the move and car temp OK, the drivers footwell fan does blow cold air. Rather a strange sensation. Have it on when stationary and get hot. Get moving, suddenly get cold - wooow...

That sounds donald ducked 2 me pbrettle cause my vents underneath only run hot air whether moving or stationary..

Admittedly my Windscreen vents only ever vent warm air no matter what the 'setting' is on
