odd water system hoses

i have two long but narrow water system hoses that have been blocked off at the ends on my 94 chim , one is on the pipe that goes to the heater part just on top of the water pump and goes to the top of the inlet manifold which has been blocked off , and the other is coming out off the top of the inlet manifold on the r/h side just under the plenium . i dont see why these have been blocked off perhaps they went into somthing , they are both about 8 inches long and about 1/2 inch outside daimeter, any sugestions please

Coolant should circulate in the plenum chamber, via two (@5/16") pipes that connect under the stepper motor. This sounds like what you are describing, yours may have been disconnected because the plenum was not water tight???

Many have been blocked to avoid heating the plenum, the last thing required is more heat! specialists will always by-pass the plenum.

ahh that sounds about right then , proberbly been trying to get a little more power from such a small engine. thanks chaps
