Anyone know if you can also fit the 18” SP12 rears to the front?

There have been a few cars on here with 18 inch wheels all round.

The consensus of opinion was that the front looks slightly out of place iirc.

Why not have 18 inch on the rear and 17 inch on the front to give you the original balanced look?

My track wheels are just that and I really like the look.

Dammed if I can find a decent photograph with the 17/18" track wheels on!

My previous Chim had 18" spiders and I like the look of that diameter.

Spotted your car at Burghley the other week, excuse my ignorance but what is the outlet in the bonnet? confused
Yes its a screamer pipe / wastegate outlet. Basically when the turbo comes up to boost it lets off any excess exhaust gas to maintain the desired boost level. Its very noisy and spits flames at night hehe

I saw the car was confusing quite a few people at Burghley laugh

Heres my old build thread from a couple of years ago if it helps explain:

Hopefully will get some better videos with decent sound quality soon

Nice. I notice on the 1/4 mile leaderboard you did 12.52 at Shakey,, did you manage to go any quicker at the pod?
No, unfortunately I really struggled for traction at Pod. I will get back out this year though with better tyres and a tad more boost which should help thumbup

Apart from drag radials, I have a theory that track tyres are not necessarily the answer. I wonder if a better bet is to use tyres that are supposed to keep you on the road in a monsoon in November, ie tyres that have loads of grip when cold.

My best ever run anywhere was my first ever run at Santa Pod.
I arrived at lunchtime to find the queue stretched back as far as Milton Keynes, so I dumped my track tyres on the grass and joined the queue on my rubbish Continental road tyres.
Changed to my track tyres after that first run.....and was slower.

Drag tyres were my thought, it is currently on Federal RSR which are very sticky on the road but I think not idea for off the line grip.

I am going to be on the look out for some 15 of 16 inch wheels for the rear that I can stick some drag radials on

My oh my, not mine but this is absolutely stunning and by far the best looking option of wheel imo.

Yes, I believe TVR wheels suit the cars best.

I'm sure the paint work on that car is far better than mine but photographs hide a mile of stone chips!

I quite fancy some old fashioned slot mags.
Has anyone found any and tried them?

What are the general thoughts on gold/bronze wheels on a black car? I've gone a few pages back, but cannot see any other examples. Currently have 16" Imola's all round, but I think a dark bronze would suit the car. There are various options, but I quite like the XXR 530's, TD Pro 1.2's or even the Japan Racing JR3.

Finally got my wheels sorted, I had been looking for wheels similar to the originals but also modernising the look of the car, hence the size increase. I ended up going with ET25 17x7 inch fronts on 215/40s and ET35 18x8 inch rears on 245/35.

The wheels are Japan Racing JR3. In the specs I've mentioned above I believe these are only available in bronze (my choice), white or matt black.

If anyone would like any more info on the wheels just let me know!
