Not sure if its spitting out oil, petrol or condensation, but it has left oily type marks on my driveway.

It stops after a short while, but could this be down to it heating up and the fuild vaporising?

It seems to go through oil quite quickley too.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is it expensive?

Usually this is condensation picking up soot from the exhaust.

Leaves nice twin black splodges on the garage door. (If you're lucky enough to have a garage that is!)

Sounds like quite a lot in your case though...

Probably just water as a result of combustion. The engine management will overfuel from cold (like a choke) and this will cause more water in the exhaust.

As some watchers standing my car discovered when I gave it a boot: it can go quite a way

Yep! But only when I'm agreeing with someone.

As I remember when I had mine, cleaning the stepper motor made it a lot less noticable/eliminated it.

Thanks guys!

At least I can stop worrying now.

All I gotta do now is sort out the nasty exhaust smell.

Oh I remember in Italy 3 years back a certain Chim 450 owner showed us all how to turn the Chim into a water cannon.
While washing the car he left the hose down the tail pipes for 2 or 3 minutes then started the car, by god what a sight, the water went a good 15 yards. We where all shocked, but not as much as the Porker owner passing by with the roof down!!!!!!

Oh the funny things people do on holidays.
It still brings a smile to my face thinking about it.

Agree with all the above, my S Works (a proper one, none of this BMW nonsense!) spews black sh!te all over my old man's nice (formerly white) garage door or the front of his Beemer (depending on if it's at the front or the back of the drive) when I start it up from cold!

Ahh the joys of a large bore upswept exhaust some grunt and a bit of exhaust soot.

Granted not quite the same beast but the same result nevertheless!

And you're saving the planet - the more carbon that comes out in elemental form, the less is coming out as CO2! Phew, the air's getting better as I think about it...
