I've had a '96 4.0l chim for a year now. It's had it's ups and downs - engine blew up taking the radiator with it, clutch failed, roof leaks mucho. I know the score with these cars, and i accept it happily. (especially as the waranty picked up the 4000 pound total for all this).

Now, the warranty is out, and i'm twitchy. Trading in is the obvious way to go, and a black Tuscan speed six with 18inch black wheels is the most evil wheeled object man has created. I need this car. I know i'm going to do it, i just need to know what i should go for, and what to avoid. I know electrics can be a problem etc, but what else - early cars with bad part batches and stuff.

I've got 30 grand to do this with, not lots for a tuscan, so i need to be careful. Please advise me, i am in pain.

ten-four...out.

I would stick with the Chim if you are twitchy about bills. Tuscans will cost more to put right than a Chim when they are out of warranty. Buy a new warranty from a dealer to cover the expensive mechanical bits whichever way you go if you need piece of mind. I know that Tuscans are nice - but from what I read on here, Rover V8s will always be easier and cheaper to fix as there are many credible independents that can do the work. If your S6 goes bang, only TVR can mend it.

If you dont buy it, you will kick yourself. However, if you do buy it and it goes wrong then you may regret it.

Chances of it going wrong now are probably quite slim, so your chances of regret are slim.

Do you want to be kicking yourself?

Matt.

Robstvr, you're a jerk and a waste of space.

You've started three different topics, each with the same message.
