Hi again fellow piston headers. New to this site and probably just not looking in the right place! I am looking to replace the rear screen on my chimaera and wondered if any one could let me know where to get it replaced in the Surrey area. Thanks Steven

Hi, not from your area and don't know anywhere but just for information have you checked that your insurance will cover it. Mine did and it only cost me the £60 excess plus I took it to a place of my choice.

I used Carhoods in Chessington and they did an excellent job at a good price.

I had this problem the other week, as it turns out. My insurance wouldn't replace as the screen isn't glass (unless I called it 'vandalism' and paid the excess) and even then they may have just replaced the screen, not the entire hood. Considering the prices I was quoted for supply and fit of a new hood I bought one from Dave Hammerton roofs (rooves?) - do a search on here.

I can heartily recommend them, the roof is much higher quality than the original and won't ever need waterproofing. Fitting it is a long (and fiddly) job but for the price (£320) it was well worth the effort.

Hope that helps,

Mark
