The deal has been struck, hands have been shaken, and next Saturday I will be driving away my Jan '97 (P) Ruby Mica Red 4.0 Chimaera! Hoorrrraahh!!

This baby has only done 15k miles, full service history, (It's been serviced every 2.5k!) And is mine for what I think is a semi-reasonable £16k. The previous owner (72 yr old boy) has had since 3k miles, so I reckon it's in pretty good order.

Maybe some of you remember a 55k miler that i was looking at with a slightly checkered service history? Well I blew that on out and look what has come up. Thanks for all you advice telling me to walk away, that's exactly what I did, and I'm well pleased I did.

Let just hope the sun stays out!

bazza, top man!

See, if there's something in your stomach telling you to walk away– then walk! There's always another car. And you've found it alright. Where was it advertised? I'd have said £16k was a good price.

Didi the owner of the 55k onbe get it serviced after all or not?

Better post that pic in your profile like I've done when you get it.

Best wishes

Mike

Nice one, congratulations. I heartily approve of the colour.... probably same as mine.

It is going to feel like a long time before you pick him up.

Hi Barry,

Sounds a good deal - be careful in first few miles, as it may not have been used to full ability. I've just had a radiator problem on my new one for this very reason (last owner had hardly used over last 18-months).

spec ? PAS ?

Yes the 55k did get it serviced, he might stand a better chance of selling it now!

The one I've bought's spec is PAS, heated seats, Magnolia leather, no Leven bits (yet!) and a trickle charger. No CD player, but I have a nice Nakamichi CD head unit and a pair of Alpine V12 amps to put in it anyway, but I think I'll enjoy the exaust note for a while first!

Congratulations, you won't want to drive anything else now, ever!!

I purchased a 4.0 97P in January I still can't believe its mine...I've had the top off at least 5 times, I can't wait for the summer...

Sounds like you've got a good deal...

Jon

I was just thinking that. There seems to be a constant stream of people hunting for Chimaeras on the list too. Probably Pistonheads becoming more popular + Chimaeras becoming more affordable (i.e. for the price of a Mondeo/Vectra).

Enjoy the car Bazza.
