well said Paul, the six pot is TVR's future and from what I've heard and experienced the problems are dead and buried. It is a hugely impressive and charismatic engine, well suited to the TVRs of today and I may own one myself one day

If one more schmuk says the sytling of the Tamora/Tuscan grow on you I will puke.

The Griff and Chim didn't have to grow on you, you wanted one as soon as you saw it. I remember seeing them at the motor show and nearly wetting myself. I had posters on my walls, and dreamed for years of owning one.

If a significant number of enthusiasts say the new cars are ugly, and the best praise you can get is "the styling grows on you" or "never mind the looks, they drive well" then, sorry, flame me to hell and back, but they suck.

As the old Chinese proverb says, if three people tell you you look sick, lie down.

WELL SAID! the first time I saw a chimp (and heard!!) I was gobsmacked at its beauty, the Tamorahas'nt done that (yet) but a Cerby - yum, that could sway my taste buds. Mind you, now I own a chimp it becomes 'everyday' and not that special 'wow' glance like seeing your car of your dreams, like I see kids gawping at my chimp in awe, o to feel like that again. But I still luv her, shame they are coming to an end, I always try to buy 2-3 year old models, better get a new one quick befow the dream runs out. Vinny. 4.0l Chimp

Boring, boring boring!!!!!!!!!!

This thread is about the Chimaera not Tamora! Stick to the subject and keep your thoughts about the Tamora to yourselves!

I don't come on here slagging your cars off so don't slag off mine. Especially when the majority of you are not qualified to do so as you haven't yet seen a Tamora in the flesh!

PS. There's no P in Chimaera so why call it a Chimp. You might as well call it Monkey!

I know several people who took delivery of new Tuscans. With out exception, they have ALL been back to the factory for major engine work. This wouldn't be so bad except it takes them up to three months to return the car. Why won't TVR allow dealers to do engine work? What happens when the car is 5 years old?

Alex,

Not personal experience then, I thought as much. I know lots of owners who have not had problems - but this tit for tat could go on for ages, so I won't keep responding it has all been said many times.

I haven't seen one for sale for peanuts yet - maybe a slight exaggeration?. I don't know why you sold your TVR and I'm not that bothered, but please stop following the rest of the sheep and repeating the same old tales. If TVR are now going so badly wrong in your eyes find another forum to complain on.

Paul Brettle,

Bang on - good post.

Cheers,

Bang on! I must say I get fed up with people moaning about the cars! I think they are F.A.B.

i've got a Chimaera at the mo, and believe me, if I could afford to upgrade to a Tuscan I would!!! Not that I'm saying I don't like my Chimaera - I do!

Lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it

I would not panic that much about the end of building Chim. TVR has sold much more than 100 last griffiths. I know from sure sources that there are many griffith with the same last 100 plate number !!! So TVR will never refuse to build you an extra chim and price should match the last officila price.

Andy (GB1360)

SPOT ON!!!! I too am getting totally p*ssed off with this. I have never liked the Chimeara or the Tuscan really but I still prefer them to any other car out there and I wouldn't dream of slagging them off on here and offending people who have spent their life savings on them.. I don't give a toss what you think Phil, the Tamora HAS grown on me and I love it now. Shame you are so judgemental and narrow minded because you don't realise what you are missing out on.

I am just telling that TVR has produced more than 100 last griffiths. So your answer is totally irrelevant

Petrolted, don't you think you should close this thread before it gets too abusive and repetitive?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, let's not argue on who has the better taste.

Well said YUM. The world would be boring if we all loved and wanted the same thing. Just think how long the waiting list would be for a new Tamora then

Spot on yum. Opinions are subjective and we won't all agree, but so what. The only useful info for me was the results of the speed 6 poll. I'm delighted to hear that the S6 probs are over.

I meant philshort not you phil. I love the Griff, my house is called "Griffith House" and TVR haven't made more than 100 run-out Griffiths. Where on earth did you get that from???

You won't find me rubbishing other people's cars, just because they are not my cup of tea, I'll leave that to the other narrow minded people on here.......

I'm sad that the Chimaera production comes to an end - I love mine and think the design is timeless. But so be it - things have to move on (and heck it might help the residual).

Tuscan is THE Tiv to have IMHO - stunning. And even the tamato is growing on me...

However - SP6 Engine problems solved? I'm just not convinced yet. I love the sound of the engine (and I'm sure would love the power) but for someone like me running Trev on a budget - the thought of engine rebuilds, retunes and weeks without the car scares me to death (Could that be one of the reasons the dealers are changing so much recently?).

I hope the problems really are solved for TVR's sake. But I'll keep my money for another year or so and look at the groups for feedback on the engines before I trade up to the Tuscan.....

Hmmm, sorry guys looks like I may have unwittingly caused this. My statements were obviously my opinion and didn't mean to start all out war.
Please don't think me narrow minded for not liking the Griff I do like it, I just don't love it.
BTW I agree whole heartedly with knocking the SP6 bashing on the head, it's ridiculous and uninformed.
I'm not sad that the Chimaera has stopped/stopping production because I for one will never sell mine, only add to my collection, I fully intend to be driving the Chimaera until my last breath whatever TVR produce.
Once again, apologies for kicking all this tosh off - I'll go away now

Touch of the Emperor's New Clothes here I think.

I'm glad you like your new car Flasher, and I'm sorry it offends you that I don't. Each to their own, live and let live.

PS if its any consolation, yours is one of the least offensive Tamoras I've seen; from front 3/4 at least it does look the business, very tasty paint.

Flasher.I reckon your Tamora and the rest that Ive seen, yes in the flesh(at the donnington meet) Look absoultly great.
There new and i agree when people say they"didnt like it at first but its growing on me" for good sake how many songs do you hear on the radio that you hate at first but in two weeks find your self singing to or buying (or is that just Me).
I'm afraid the tamora is progress and thats what is needed, yeah its a shame to see the end to the Griffith and Chimeara but then people where probably saying that about the wedges and S's but how many went on to buy G's and C's.
sorry im rambling I'll get me coat
