ALARM HELP NEEDED PLEASE!

Hi guys I am the proud owner (for 2 weeks) of a 94 4.3 Chimeara & am having a problem with the alarm.
Does anyone know if the standard alarm on the car was a Gemini one or has it been fitted later as I have a remote key fob no. in the owners manual but do not know if this is what i need to order?.The fob I have is a Gemini one.
The problem is that it will lock the car ok with the remote but if you leave the car for a while then try to open with the remote it won't work (I have to use the key method) If I lock the car & then try to open it straight away the alarm works fine anyone any ideas???
Other than that & a noisy alternator the car is fantastic I just wish it would stop raining!!

P.S has everyone noticed that a new Gorner TVR dealership is opening in Warrington in January? fantastic just round the corner for me.

I am not 100% sure about this but my understanding is that the early alarms were Foxguard rather than Gemini.
Have you tried changing the battery in the remote, this could cause it.

I think this is most likely a problem with the receiver and not the remote transmitter. In my experience with such things, it is most likely due to damp or a dry joint.
