Tried everything but still wet
Discussion
I used to have a major leak problem - the lightest shower and it was always the carpet under my feet that was wet. Sodden, in fact.
Eventually traced it to the rear roof section. Water was coming in behind the roll bar, down the side carpet over the flap (hiding the door electrics) onto the floor. From there it ran along the grooves in the floor to the front, so the carpet seemed dry further back.
When I finally worked this out and ook the rear roof section off, there was no seal between the body and the roof - no soft rubber foam, nothing. The lowest point in the rear body was behind the roll bar on my side, so water was running down there and in.
So I put a really thick bead of sikaflex on, let it go off (i.e. got a good skin on it) and then remounted the rear roof section.
Bone dry since.
