Leather gaiters
Discussion
The gear / handbrake / door release gaiters on my 1998 chim have seen better days I wanted to replace them with some decent quality leather items at reasonable cost, after much searching I found a lady that is a member of the MR2 forums that has been getting great comments on the gaiters that she makes for other owners.
I have been in contact with her & she is happy to make them for a Chim, I have sent my old items to use as patterns, and will be getting the new ones back later this week.
Prices are very reasonable, and a portion of her profit goes to macmillan nurses.
I will update on fit & quality when I have them back, but prices are below
Various colour available..
Main gaiter £15
Gear £16
Handbrake £6
Door £5
p&p £3 to UK
Let me know if you are interested.

To update this thread, I got the gaiters back today & have now fitted them.
They look superb & fit really well, the colour match isn't 100% but extremely close, I guess 12years of sunlight and dirt has cangned the colours slightly!
I got Rhonda to make the door release gaiter slightly bigger in the length so that it doesn't need to be glued in, this means that when the centre console is removed you don't need to bother with the awkward grub screw on the door knob.
She sent me a few samples of leather colours see photo, there is a minimum quantity that she has to buy which I think is a half hide, but she keeps some common colours in stock (red, Magnolia, black)
She now has a template for a 1998 Chimaera, but if there is sufficent demand I am sure she would be happy to do other cars as well.
Bear in mind that she does this from home as a hobby & donates some of the takings to charity, so don't expect to order today for delivery tomorrow!
Anyone that is interested should contact her directly, just mention Andy from Pistonheads sent you.
