weight reduction (the car)
Discussion
According to various data a Chimaera should weigh in in at 1060kg, this I take is for a non powersteering or A/C (no pumps etc)car . Apart from removing the spare wheel (which I have done)has anyone done had any luck in shedding a few move Kg from their cars (removing weight from the driver could be a possibility!!)
thanks Mark

I have to added much weight to my chim due to the I.C.E, didnt seem to impare performance, why not try approaching the performance tuners to see what they do? I feel the cars are relatively stripped as it is, being of fibreglass and tubular steel construction. Good luck

I once used to work in Halfords (keep this secret) and this fat bloke used to come in every week and spend a fortune on the most expensive 'light' things we had for bicycles. The man had carbon fibre lights, special alloy wheels, some sort of tiny saddle and all manner of airy stuff that we never used to sell and used to lie to him about.
I'm sure this story isn't relevant to you, but it always makes me laugh. Stupid fat fool.

Empty tank and put five litres of fuel in it. Put five litres in can and put in boot. When you run out, empty can into tank and find petrol station, refill can and repeat.
Saves about 45 KG over filling the tank up but is a tad convenient. All depends on how serious you are about weight saving.
Saved about 80-90 KG on the 520 by removing carpets, headlamp motors, spoiler that did nothing, six feet of exhaust pipe and other bits and pieces....
