door lock buzzing !

Please help, Chim 98 The passenger door lock mechanism buzzes loudly when the car is unlocked / locked with the remote and when is openend from inside. This continues for aprox 3 seconds after the door is locked / unlocked It would appear that the motor with the metal rod which moves the locking mechanism is making the noise. If i apply a slight downward pressure on the rod it doesnt make the noise. Does anyone know whether i can adjust this or is it looking like a replacement and if so whats the part likley to be from. Check that the door lock is actually tight and not physically moving causing the buzzing by locking and unlocking. Tighten screws with loctite.

Thanks Steve, I will check although all seemed secure when i was proding about. Its like the motor is doing the job of locking /unlocking but then continues to try and do its job for those 3 seconds or so after. Thus causing the noise, if you know what i mean.
