door lock buzzing !

Please help, Chim 98 The passenger door lock mechanism buzzes loudly when the car is unlocked / locked with the remote and when is openend from inside. This continues for aprox 3 seconds after the door is locked / unlocked It would appear that the motor with the metal rod which moves the locking mechanism is making the noise. If i apply a slight downward pressure on the rod it doesnt make the noise. Does anyone know whether i can adjust this or is it looking like a replacement and if so whats the part likley to be from. New solenoid, its from a Calibra boot lid I have been informed, about £22 plus VAT from TVR but you have to do some soldering!!
