At the moment, I'll keep it the way it is but will consider merging the forums should certain areas appear to be too quiet

Would agree with fly fisher, for traditional models easy to miss common problems, would end up looking at all categories anyway, might as well have them all as one.
Will be interesting to see if any of the Mogtalk people contribute.

Thanks all.

People are protective of PH for which I'm graetful - many people have invested a lot of time in it, not just me

The point is that it's a bit cheeky to go onto any forum and suggest that people go elsewhere. It's a bit like walking into a pub and saying "Hey everyone, come round my house with some tinnies instead".

Well done Ted for not pulling the thread. clap Though would have understood if you had.

PH is more than just a forum in my humble opinion and I for one like it here. There is always an inetersting debate, something to laugh at or someone to help you. Keeps me amused anyway. I also think the PH Aero section is just getting more interesting and fun - roll on Sunday the 10th. driving

Sorry Nomis, whilst I fully understand that your intentions may be good, cant help a bit of cynicism. I feel that once it gets busy you wont be able to resist some advertising revenue. Nothing wrong with that, but if it does go that way would be a tad hypocritical.

Anyhow I didnt really want to antagonise a fellow Aero driver. I also feel sure this may not have been an intentional attack just maybe a slight oversight.

You never know I may pop in one day and have a look Will need to be PDA friendly though!

A very fair point Andy and all I can do is say that I have no intention of doing so but as you point out, I can't prove that. Although in fairness, the Morgan brand (dealers) and the surrounding companies are hardly a cash cow waiting to me milked, so even if I was thinking about that, it would take me years to even get back my costs! lol

As for Ted, as someone else said, Talk Morgan is hardly a threat as I can't imagine his core users group is Traditional Morgan owners (from the Forums, it would seem to be TVR and the modern sports car brands). Even so, I did say I was happy for him to delete the thread - and would understand 100%, without any ill-feelings - but he was professional and mature enough to leave it.

In my experience most people belong to more than one forum, or am I the only saddo who does that? The Pistonheads model forums are general discussion areas whereas a dedicated model forum is segmented around specific sub-models within the brand. Most of us who post on pistonheads (and will continue to) enjoy the breadth of the community with many diverse communities. They serve different purposes IMO and are complimentary.

I personally see Pistonheads as being the ONLY credible central meeting point for car enthusiasts on the web, and I don't see any other forum challenging that for some time to come.

Congrats Nomis, great site!

I have joined and I think we should all support his effort. As DoctorD says, most people are members of a number of forums and PH remains the peak of motoring sites.

What news of the delivery of your new car Nomis?

Cheers
Brian

Thanks Brian and thank you DoctorD

I've been told there are 5-Aeros that have been affected by the engine delay and that best case I'll see the car before the end of Sept, worst case early October... I can't wait!
