What spec is worth going for ?
The SE ?
Are there any extras worth having ? Sports suspension?
I quite like the thught of the full spec but then the price rises to £15K then.
These guys look like good value:

Depends on what you are looking for.

I got the ZT-T 190+ model. The 135 diesel is also very good if you want good fuel economy. My 190 averages 28mpg.
It's got the Alcantara seats, (nice and worth it) Xenon headlights + washers (fantastic)Heated washer jets, Intelligence pack (auto dipping mirror, auto wipers, reverse sensors, trip computer and upgraded instruments - all worth it)

I'd upgrade the stereo given half a chance (the Standard fit Kenwood is not red hot) and cruise control might be nice on a long run.

I've got the full MG suspension set up (later models have a softer set up, with the option of the full MG set up for a couple of hundred quid more).
I love firm riding cars and so for me its a great set up, but some might find it a bit extreme. It certainly endows the car with fantastic handling and roadholding.
The later cars have a different spec layout, and most of what I've set out above comes under the current SE range, with the stereo upgrade to Harmon Kardon being part of the option pack that also gives you leccy seats and sunblind.
If I was buying a new spec car I'd go for an SE with option pack. Diesel, V6 or V8 would be a tough choice though! But overall my 190 V6 is a great compromise

Couldn't stop myself any longer - just bought a 75 Tourer '04 plate with less than 2k on the clock - Contemporary SE spec with option pack (electric sunroof, Xenon, foldaway door mirros, cruise, etc) and other goodies including 17" Meteor alloys - list price around £26,500 - mine for the unbelievably silly price, after haggling, of £16,500. Almost bought two.
