I am refitting the non collapsable column to the Roadster,
can anyone tell me if, or by how much, the outer tube should protrude through the bulkhead?

I guess the cowling and steering wheel will set it but its a bit early for that yet.

To the best of my recollection it doesn't protrude into the engine bay at all it just enters the rubber boot bootbut it's of no importance until you get to fitting the indicator switch assembly and steering wheel when the relationship between the brass wiper finger on the switch and it's contact with the ring on the back of the steering wheel boss determine the final resting place.

Just leave the clamps on the outer loose until you get to that stage.
