TF Spepspeed

There’s a reasonable priced 02 TF with a stepspeed gearbox for sale near me, I quite fancy it but have read that you should stay away from from Speed gearboxes!
Are they a lot of trouble? Do they all go wrong? Or is it the way they are driven?
And if they do go wrong can they be fixed?

I drive a Tf, but have no experience with Stepspeeds, If you are on Facebook, there is something of an MG community on there, worth looking for MG groups.
