Is there a verified weight for the ZA?

Google searches come up with 1,110 kg, 1,090 kg, 1,118 kg and 1,102 kg. My original ZA operation manual says 1,123 kg.

I would like to find out what figure is accepted as being correct, be it one of these or something else.

Whilst looking through the operating manual I noticed that in the "good driving" section it says "Engage 1st gear to pull away, at 6mph change into second gear, engage 3rd at 12 mph and top gear should be engaged at 18 mph. Really!

Well the gear changing speeds seem about right of a vehicle of that age. I think I've a Staton Abbey book that also covers Magnettes, I'll see if I can find it.

And chance of a reader's cars thread? I bloody love the ZA and ZB.

ETA vehicle weights are measured in so many ways that you can essentially take your pick from that spread of figures... How much fuel in the tank, what weight of passengers and luggage, probably other permutations too.

If it's for your vehicle history folder or a car show sign, I'd just use the one you have from the manual there. If anyone quibbles it ask them what assumptions go with the weight they are quoting smile
