Well then...

Mine's a '79 Roadster in Carmine Red.

Was originally an American LHD model and is becoming less & less original over time.

It's lowered, with uprated suspension, racing anti-roll bar, leather seats, CD player....

I love it to bits & (a few weeks ago now) had fun racing my bro-in-law's Elise round some nice lanes I know. He won, but only just!

Hi, I'm the owner of a Solar Red ZR 105, very much enjoying it, but considering an MGF trophy.

I have a MGF in British Racing Green with black leather seats with green boarders. Black rooth as Well ( hard and soft-top ). I use it to commute to Work and every day ... sommer to winter. I wanted to keep the Omega for Winter, but as it turned out, the MG is doing just fine and can be considert to be my only car by now.

The relibilety of my model is okay ... I must commit I cahnged a few things in advice ( like the Inlet Manifolt ) and the gear-chaning-wire broke down. But beside that, knoks on wood.

From MGF to TVR is a semi natural progression, you get your foot into the British roadster scene with the F, and then want something a little more and get a TVR.
top choices

I think you are right
I start looking and stare at any TVR I can find ... but unfortunatly it is almost impossible to get one over here in Austria / Continental Europe.

Oh What ... next car will be a Land Rover Defender anyways. ( Will be the perfect extention to the little and unreliable MG ... and by the way, my gf like it. )

However ... I must say, it is hard to get that TVR out of the System.

I just bought my girlfriend a 96 MGF, and now finding out that they aren't that cheap to insure as a provisional. Still, she should have her licence in a few weeks. Any tips on insurance specialists or club discounts, anything like that?

Its metallic grey with red leather interior, I personally think its a great drive and can certainly see the appeal. Seems to grip very well, and feels pretty quick.

A few questions if I may:

1) Windows don't always fall perfectly into place if they are up when you open and close the door (roof up). Hopefully that is clear enough for someone to understand me.

2) The gearbox grinds sometimes going into reverse. I'm told by the dealer that they do that, but obviously want to claim on warranty if its a problem!

3) The clutch take up is very, very early (like an inch off the floor sort of thing). Its got a hydraulic clutch, so can't be the adjustment, can it?

Thanks in advance

Check out this thread regarding insurance. Note that with Footman James they do give a discount if you are a member of a recognised car club.

Had my ZT 160 KV6 for 2 yrs now (Solar Red)...getting itchy feet but I still love the motor. Depreciation has killed me though.

The wife has a Trophy Blue ZR 105+....about a year old now...but luckily she got it after all the deals appeared, so not as bad for losing us money.

And I've got a TVR S1 for the sunny days.

Andy.

I just introduced myself over in the Lotus Lounge (ordered an Elise 111r), so I thought I'd do the same here in this thread .

My car is a '72 MGB Roadster in BRG, fully restored and rebuilt on a Heritage shell. I have made quite a few modifications from standard, but the main ones are a full stage 2 engine conversion, 25% uprated dampers all round with Superflexes and 7/8" ARB, slotted & cross-drilled Black Diamond brake discs and 14x6 Minilite alloys running on 185x70xR14 Pirellis.

There is a nice selection of kit in this thread .
