MG ZT 260 - Anything I Should Know?
Discussion
Hi Guys,
For those of you looking for a 260, you might want to take a look at this one
Keith, the current owner, is an active member of the Owners' Club and certainly looks after his cars well. He currently has a 75 Diesel, ZT-T190 and a ZT260, but is looking to get all sensible by selling the two ZTs and replacing them with a single ZT-T 260 he can carry the family dogs in!

Mine is now virtually sold, maybe I put it up too cheap and could have put some people off, I hope not and if anyone was sitting on the fence wondering if they should have given me a ring then sorry but probably to late now as I wanted to sell it promptly.
A, before the tax ran out at the end of July
and
B, before I changed my mind!
Luckily apart from running costs I am not losing any major money on the car (previous owner did as he paid £19,9995 for it in June 2005) and I have had several months of "260 training" out of the exercise! In fact this will be the first car I have ever owned that has suffered hardly any depreciation and that is a rare thing today!
I was reluctant to spend mega bucks on one last year when looking for a Tourer but now once this has gone I will bide my time until one comes along that I can afford as for my needs the Tourer will do the job and my experience with my 260 tells me it is a car you can live with daily, very nicely.
It does not have any vices, can be driven hard with great enjoyment (which I did last night) or can be a very capable long distance express with five people on board and luggage and it still has serious grunt to deal with 90% of any traffic out there!
Now as part of my plans to get a 260 Tourer anyone want a seriously good ZT-T 190+ in Monogram Typhoon Blue with every possible option on it except Traction Control and a Sunroof, and I really do mean every option afaik!

Hey... maybe Kermit power could recommend my one now that yours is sold Keith :-) Nothing better than have someone recommend someone else's car in a thread when you're trying to generate some interest in your own car!!
I certainly wouldn't not recommend it Dubbs! It's more the case that Keith documented his entire search experience, along with plenty of his little fixes over on two-sixties.com, so I know a little more about that one.The simple fact is that if you want to buy a car from an enthusiast who has looked after it during their period of ownership, then the first places to look are the V8 section of xpowerforums.com and the For sale section of the forum on www.two-sixties.com. This does very much include young Mr Dubbs!

Did it sell then? I fancy one myself and yours looks like a great one. Am just mid house purchase and so am trying to resist buying a car and really should buy something economical!Mine is now virtually sold, maybe I put it up too cheap and could have put some people off, I hope not and if anyone was sitting on the fence wondering if they should have given me a ring then sorry but probably to late now as I wanted to sell it promptly.

MG Rover only made 1 supercharged car although you are correct that it is with SMC. If they have another supercharged car, then it will be with a Dreadnought conversion. Most people would argue that it is actually a far better job than the factory original, but it certainly shouldn't be up for 20k unless they've had the conversion done on a completely new car.One has not been registred
