Update...

New passenger side floor is in.

Driver side pending!

I also need new chassis rail and floor pan to sill panels as they have holes!

After these are done; the glass is coming out and trim removed ready for paint.

The engine is coming out for a rebuild and unleaded head conversion.

The doors are being re-skinned and the front wings will have new bottom halves.

Then off to the paint shop!

It'll be in superb condition when it's finished and I'll know there are no horrors lurking beneath a layer of filler & paint.

Floors are all done now and the castle rails are going in. Doors & wings all done too.

Looking good, better than mine currently! smile

All of the drivers side is now done but further rot and evidence of poor repairs have been found on the passenger side so it's all stripped out now and we have new Heritage panels to go in (rear wheel tub, complete rear wing and new sills).

I've changed my username btw wink

Driver side a few days ago...

Passenger side looking rather bare!

Looks can be deceptive, all that rot under a pretty looking body, this is how it looked before the rebuild.

Good work task; I've been actively involved but I've not done any of the cutting out and welding despite having the skills to do it. I just don't have the time, facilities or equipment to do it.

Here is a photo from this morning:-

Lovely, is that colour Old English White?

Mine was Tartan Red but I'm considering a colour change.

Looking on my phone, it looks like primrose.

It's a nice colour.

I'm trying to decided what I'd like best which is proving difficult!

It should be all stripped (glass & dash out), zinc galvanise primed inside and underneath and all stone chip protected & ready for paint within the next 2 weeks.

A quick update....

I have the car back at home now but looking rather sorry for itself in a mix of red and primer.

I'm awaiting a slot at the body shop for it to go in for fettling and respray and fitting the glass and all external trim. They will also be fitting a new boot floor and rear panel.

I've chosen Aston Martin Silver Birch for the colour.

Any further updates on this?
Not too much at the moment.

It's now at the bodyshop for the rest of the panel work and painting and a new dash to be painted and fitted.

I'll post some photos when they get going on it and I've had time to visit them (they are about 40 mins from me).

I'm off to collect a new engine, box, overdrive, exhaust, carbs etc soon

It's at the bodyshop now.

The welder who did all the new panels has welded them incorrectly (too strong at the outside and week in the interior) so that it will not deform as it should in a collision. They are re-welding the affected areas. The same guy also buggered up all the glass by not covering it during welding and cutting out and it's all pitted now frown

It'll add to the time and cost a bit but not the end of the world.

Update!

The MGB hasn't progressed and has just sat inside the body shop in the corner but they are about to start it.

I have used this time to change my mind on the colour wink

I was going to go for Healey Blue (as in Austin Healey) but some of the colours to make it up are no longer available.

So, I'm going with Porsche Minerva Blue (if it's still available).

smile we must keep each other updated on progress!
That's a lovely colour you are after there too.

I visited the bodyshop yesterday and they said they could do the Healey Blue which is great as it's far more in keeping with the car. So, that is what it is going to be.

The same as the top colour on this lovely Austin-Healey 3000

SPT28; sorry for not replying any sooner (I've only just seen your post).

Yes, I'm in Kent smile

Good idea to start a thread; I'll probably print mine off when the car is finished.

Here are a few more recent photos - it looks worse but it's getting there slowly.

Roof

Another hole!
New panel ordered...

New boot floor needed some tweaks to fit.

Flatting the body and dealing with imperfections.

New rear panel going in.

Gap issues to deal with.

More smoothing.

Engine bay prep.

Thank you.

I can't wait to get on the road.

I'm sure there'll be a few teething problems but that's part & parcel of owning a classic.

I’ve not posted for a while but the B us still being ferried but is on the road & being enjoyed.

I put a new radiator & twin fans in a week ago.

Sorted a few electrical bits & that’s about all recently.
