Had an amazing day on Friday at Bedford GT.

Having had the car a few months - this was my third track day in it. Donington was a wash out - Rockingham I got familiar with the car BUT Bedford.....

I started to really appreciate the cornering and g forces this great car generates. I have just started to get confident with braking later and god can you brake late. From 120ish to a 20 mph hairpin I was braking at the 100 meter board with plenty more to spare. In the GT3RS (with ceramics) I'm sure I was braking at 150 metres. You can simply hit the brakes really hard from speed and then back off slightly as you get below 60mph.

I started to upshift for the first time without using the clutch - addictive - must be changing gear within a fraction of a second yet it all feels so instinctive.

Cornering speed has really taken it out on the back of my arms but suprisingly not my neck. I purchased a HANS device and wore this for the first time - have to say, although it was a lot of money, it is very comfortable and gives real peace of mind.

What really impressed me about the cornering is not only the crazy amount of g you can pull but how forgiving the car seemed to be when I slightly over stepped the mark. On a few laps I got into the grove and started to really push on some of the faster corners and even then a slight twitch from the back was nothing to worry about, instinctive and immediately controllable.

As long as this car provides reasonable reliability and costs vs pace with the amount of buzz generated - I will remain very chuffed with buying it. I chose the SR3 after excellent write ups and decided that I didn't want to over track my GT3RS. At this stage, I have made the right decision , the RS is an absolutely phenominal machine given it's weight and the position of it's engine but the SR3 is the right choice if you intend to do a lot of track days and want the max buzz without being overly concerned with heavy running costs.

Careful you don't get the racing bug. Then it won't be cheaper to run than the Porsche... :-)

Glad you're enjoying it! Wish I'd put those stickers on now - looks less naked somehow. Now that you're getting familiar with it, probably a good idea to get some instruction from someone with downforce or Radical experience!
