Hello all

Trying to bleed my clutch and no matter what I do I'm getting a rock hard feel. No movement at all. Pulled the banjo bolt off to ensure there wasn't an issue there and fluid pumped through fine. I'm using a power bleeder and getting the same result no matter what I am doing.

Thoughts?

Sounds like your bleed nipple is seized / blocked

it will bleed, can open and close bleeder nipple and fluid is flowing through. Just no movement on the clutch pedal.

Going to dis-assemble slave tonight and see what that brings up

closing out my issue.....

Apparently the previous owner did not install the clutch correctly (along with about everything else) and the clutch push shaft is not engaging correctly. Further, a spacer on the slave itself is missing so the piston was flush against the motor case.

Not fully running.

Previous owner has a side business bringing in Radicals and selling them. He put a new motor in and then..... life got busy, etc. so I picked it up knowing that it had a problem or two (reconnect air lines on blipper because he couldn't figure out what he messed up and fix seat brackets and put new restraints in), but not this many, nor were they disclosed. Not necessarily in chronological order....

  • Every motor bolt was only hand tightened, Now fixed.
  • GDU was only hand tightened and one bolt was missing, Now fixed
  • Apparently when he was dis-assembling the air lines, he pulled too hard on the push fittings leaving a mm or tow of tubing. New push fitting solved that problem
  • Motor seemed to have a small leak from the pan area and I noticed that a couple of the bolts were in the wrong place (long in short and vice versa). Fixed that.
  • Banjo bolt on clutch slave was loose clutch felt ok until I realized the problem and bled the clutch, which lead to other discoveries (this may have been where I was seeing oil from....)
  • When getting it up to operating temp to see if everything was ok, blew a coolant line. Re-tightened all of them and made sure they were properly on.
  • He gave me a spare motor that had blown, but somehow cracked / chipped the head when taking it out. He didn't tell me that until I noticed it when picking up the car.
Basically, every time I find and fix a problem, I find another problem. I may fix the rest myself but am also looking for someone relatively locally do to the fixes and a once over.

Wow!
I need to stop by, I'll send you a message Tuesday. I can swing by after lunch if you will be at your shop.

That's certainly a bit rubbish, I hope you paid a sensible price for it!
