The SR3 is a serious car for drivers such as yourself. The Intosport 160 is as it says in its name a starter car for novices. Anyway the SR3 is by far the best track day car around.

I would go for the Introsport 160 before trying the Prosport or SR3.

Why so James? (says the man whose first Radical will be a 1500 SR3 Supersport which will be completed in LESS THAN 3 WEEKS NOW!)

Andrew, looks as though I may end up with a 1300 Supersport. Put me down as a potential buyer for your massively depreciated 1500 when you decide to upgrade to the 2,600cc V8 Radical

Good news Andrew! Think I'll wait until the V8 is fully tested etc. but it sounds amazing doesn't it. Gawd knows what 350+ bhp will be like in an SR3 though.

Of course I'll put you on my list - like the joke about depreciation though, ha ha

Hmmm V8 in a radical. Sounds fun, but I bet the extra weight will be counter productive. Similar things have been tried in lightweight single seaters and the handling goes to pot, no matter how much tinkering is done with suspension.

If it works though, I think I'll be up for one )

There are a few 300bhp turbo hayabusa in the motorbike world, wonder why they're not adopting this route? It shouldn't add much weight at all, and only low boost should be required, so not too much lag?

Also 3 weeks and waiting!!!

Interesting thread. Considering the trailer hassles of going back and forth I wonder if any of you considered getting a motorbike instead? Could be an interesting alternative as a track tool. I always thought those Ducatti's were rather sexy. Used ones are only 6k too. Mmm...

Problem with motorbikes - the hassle of recovering back home after you bin it? In a car you can always slide and spin harmlessly if you over do it - not quite so simple on a bike! And it hurts!

Having said that, I'd love to take my bike out on track, but I wouldn't drive anywhere near my limits.

pete964rs,
just a quikie, took delivery of a 12k miles old 964RS last week, its great! But just to add a twist to your original question, took the Prosport to the RMA Spa last week and after a few small problems it ran well and was great fun to drive, the SR3's do seem to be quicker, but I was on three year old slicks and haven't driven the car for a year, and I am an "old fart".
Best Regards, Tim Raven

Ah, well, the ideal would be to have both as you do, but then you'll be constantly arguing with yourself over which car to take to your next track day.

I eventually compromised on keeping the RS and tuning it. First outing in two weeks time at the 'ring and Spa. Watch this space... no doubt other Radical owners will be driving rings around me, but will I be having more or less fun than them...? And, of course, I get to drive there and back and round the circuits in the same car.

What colour did you get?
