Has anyone got any real evidence of superior performance of the 1500 compared with the 1300? My SR3 is back at the factory on Tuesday and I am thinking about upgrading.

Stick it on the factory dyno? From what I remember, there's not a huge difference for track day use (compared to other cars out there), but for racing I'm sure being able to pull a couple of car lengths down the straights is very helpful

Just come back from the factory and was told the 1300 makes about 175bhp at the wheels and the 1500 makes 210bhp. 1500 should give more punch out of corners, especially when revs are at the bottom end of the powerband.

My 1300 has carbs, so I have been advised to change to Fuel Injection. Fuel tank will also need chaning and the whole lot will be about £7K +VAT. Sounds expensive but the Turbo conversion is £18K +VAT

Of course some of that £7K I will spend anyway refreshing the 1300 so I'm quite tempted.

Having done a bit of digging around it appears that the TTS 1507cc conversion may be cheaper and more powerful. I think that the Radical 1500 makes about 183bhp at the rear wheels with the TTS kit making almost 200. Just waiting for Richard at TTS to get back to me.

Absolutely go for it. Richard's engine makes 209 bhp at the rear wheels in our car. Haven't had it go wrong either !!

Well I just had my westfield megabusa turbocharged by jack Frost at www.holeshotracing.co.uk/ I think you will find his work is awseome, he is the specialist in turboing bike engines I have up to 350BHP and it costs around a third of what Radical seems to be charging!!

Well worth giving him a call.

Barefoot,

What did you get done and how much did it cost in the end? Any internal engine mods?

Only that this is also just what I have also done on my Megabusa, but using the Velocity Racing Stage 2 kit.
