Well, had my 05 registered X type Estate for a couple of days now and keep finding extra "toys", options and gadgets, but the latest one to be discovered is the paddling pool in the spare wheel well.
Is this a common occurrence and where does the water come from? Is it the rear screen pipe disconnected or is it rain ingress somewhere? Blocked drain pipe, there's no sun roof.
Thanks

Might be worth going over to jaguarforum.co.uk to ask the question but I have a feeling they can be prone to leaking around the rear lights.

Thanks and I think you are correct.
I had a bit of a poke around at lunch time and the "shelf" below the lights was wet. Thats where it's coming in.

I had the same problem on my 2005 x type sport premium. The leak was coming from 2 places. N/sr tail lamp seal which I ended up removing, cleaning up & sealing back on with some silicone sealant around the foam seal & second leak was coming from where the rear bumper cover secures just below the tail lamps. The bumper cover has a stud either side that pushes through the rear panel & is then fastened inside by a 10mm nut. These studs should have a foam seal on that seals against the panel when the bumper is secured but in my case water was dripping in past the seal & seeping into the wheel well. I removed the rear trim panel when the tailgate is opened then removed the nut either side & applied some sealant around each stud & on each nut then re fastened them & refitted the trim panel. Once done it was all nice & dry only for my next problem to occur. The tailgate glass release button failed which in turn I found out was a common problem. Bl@#*y car !

Hummm ...... I'll have to go and have a good look around mine tomorrow. But I don't recall feeling/seeing anything when I was mucking about with it at the weekend.

I'd recommend popping over here: http://www.jaguarforum.co.uk/f26/
