hi all i have a question for you car lovers on here i have a jaguar x type 2007.
i have 235/45/r17 tyres on it can i use 235/55/r17 tyres on it and what impact will it have on my car
and will be ok.

Presumably that will make the external circumference of the tyre proportionally longer, with effectively longer gear ratios, and a speedometer that will under-read?

i understand that the tyres are normal for x type are 225/45/r17 but i have 235 on it .

I'd be more worried about the front set turning, mine is the sport with factory standard tyres on 18inch diameter the sidewall drops to 40% and width remains 225. You are running a wider tyre 235 and now going to increase sidewall to 55% of width on 17 inch, that's not leaving a lot of wheel arch and your larger tyres will be placing extra weight on the steering and suspension and possible strain on steering
