Hold on.........

Are we saying that, for the F Type, Jaguar use different underside rust proofing (presumably none) than they do for other models ? Really ?
No, I'm saying that they are all of them not that good. I am saying that there are a lot of steel components in the suspension which are not as well protected as say the comparable
Porsche product and if neglected wil rapidly get into a near irreparable state, by which I mean 3-5 years with winter use on salted roads.

interested in this topic although a year old

i have just purchased a 22 month old SVR.

i used my 2014 F-Type R as part of the deal. I paid exactly £53,000 for the F-Type-R and got £40,250 P/X - low mileage example (only 16,000 miles) with huge spec including carbon ceramic brakes, glass panoramic roof etc

so lost £13,000 in just over 18 months of ownership. Not bleating as loved the car.

how do you guys think depreciation is going on your SVR's and any updates on what you have seen/lost?

Too late to worry about it now! But less than a grand a month loss on an F-Type is not too shabby. Depending on how much you paid for your SVR (£70kish?) you should fair similarly.

Enjoy.

The underside rust issue on FTypes is well covered in jaguar enthusiast magazines. My v8s had bad underside rust and not something you expect to be ignored for a £90k Car

wow I would not expect that at all.
Correct me if I am wrong but to some detailers not offer underside protection of some sort?
Shouldn't really have to! but if such a service his possible then its something I would consider.

That's a lot to lose in one year.

Picking up this topic again - is now a good time to buy for late £50 - early £60k mark?

Seems these have rebounded nicely with values strengthening recently.
Last of the great sounding NA V8s must be having an impact.
Cheapest 2016 car now £65k.
Maybe a good time to buy

I dont think that rebound is necessarily an SVR only thing . A few months ago we had someone on complaining that they couldn't afford a V8R on account of rising prices .

Early 2020 a SVR could be had for as little as £56k, I remember enquiring about one, then Covid came along...

Shame you didn't buy as that defo was rock bottom and as you can see prices have risen as all used cars have.
That said I dont think they have risen as much as the overall market and still represent terrific VFM.
Supercar sound and performance at £65k.

Would i want a 20 yr old and slow ferrari 360 with all the costs associated with it or a 4 yr old jag ?
