Depends with whom I am conversing. For my friends here in the States A - loo - mi - num. If I happen to be talking with my Uncle Ronnie in Scotland -
A - loo - min - e - um...

(see some of us can get it right )

Now we're getting it, good work fella'.

Maybe they should leave the foriegn relations bit it us.
A bit of cheeky jibery and, god forbid a bit of honesty, and we're making progress.

I was impressed by your acute observation of the minority dialects too, Brummie I believe!?

I am a new first owner of a Jaguar XJSport having defected from Zodiac,Granada and Scorpio's since 1969. This is because Ford designers lost there way when they threw at us the "Smiling Granda" I am very pleased with my Jag, it feels solid, sure footed and swift. If this 1997 model gives me a good reliable service I will stick with Jaguar. At least with their designers they stick roughly to what a sleek motor should look like, not an upturned jelly mould.

If it's the same as my XJR then it's grey birds-eye maple.

As FWD says, it's the same as the brown burl wood dashs.
They're made of 0.8...2mm sheet metal, glue, a really thin layer wood which is stained with a darker colour, and lots of clear lacquer IIRC.

Jaguar used to have traditional dashboards in the eighties, but when a Ford manager strolled through a plant, he discovered that Jaguar needs more time to manufacture a dashboard alone, than Ford needs for an entire Mondeo; and introduced the closely calculated limited lifetime wooden dashboard

I think it looks good much better than traditional wood ie light brown.

Reminds me of a manufacturer that used piano wood, black and highly polished

Interested to here some of your views on the XJ range. I am about to change my Lexus LS400 that I use as my business car for a new XJ6. Went for the 6 cylinder for running costs and really don't need a V8 anymore. Anyone got one? What's your thoughts?
