Someone on the BMW site was talking about the high BMW Used car prices and why... Anyway on the Jag used car site one year old low mileage XES's are going for around £33k on a £50k car that to me is very good value ?

Am looking at the XE S as a possible replacement for my XK 5.0

Does anyone know when the 340bhp engine was replaced with the 380bhp version ? I thought it was in 2017 but Listers are selling the car below (March 2016 registered) and saying it is a 380:

https://listers.co.uk/used/cars/jaguar/xe/3.0_(380...

Thanks

Yes, I believe it was only last year, so Mar’16 seems too soon.

Prices of XE S's are odd. Maybe due to so few being made. Jaguar Approved 2015/16 340 bhp cars asking £26-£28k. 2017 380 bhp cars £31k-£32k. Gap doesn't seem great enough. Would expect the later cars to be more than £5k more expensive.

The 380's may hold value as so few were sold in the UK and now the V6 3.0 is no more in the UK XE range, top model is now the 2.0 300 HP model.

XE-S is a very unloved car.

These things were £50k new, but year old cars are just over £30k, so trade in sub-£30k. So looking at nearly 50% loss in a year.

No matter how rare, they are not wanted and the prices will continue to slide.....shame

I've looked at prices of a few BMWs recently... the latest 6 series (inc Gran Coupe) is certainly not high, and I'm sure that no-one looking at selling an i3 or i8 is going to think that used BMW prices are high!!

Anyway, I'm off to find an XK...

I'm guessing that you need 4 proper seats... I no longer do

Forgot to ask...what XK did you have, and what was it like?

2012 5.0 (facelift) Portfolio Coupe. Italian Racing Red. Black interior / white stitching.

Fabulous car. And beautiful. But I'm doing too many miles and was a shame to keep doing that. Not to mention expensive on fuel. Didn't need 4 seats but was taken with the XE-S.

Re the other thread, the car had a heated screen (not sure about timer - if it had one I don't know about it !). And a heated steering wheel. No DAB radio though (not sure that was even an option - these cars are old tech).

I bought a space saver separately which I have kept to sell. Jag dealer where i px'ed it wasn't interested in me leaving it in the car (in the sense they said same PX value with or without it).

My XK hasn't apeared as used for sale - they may have had someone lined up on a waiting list so sold without even being advertised. Condition was near perfect.

I have a mint original brochure still for the 2012 model XK/ XKR.

DAB was an option after the 2008 facelift that brought us the 5.0 cars, and it is a must have for me, although I know it can easily be retro fitted to cars with upgraded (ie. Alpine or B&W) systems

It does surprise me how many cars I've seen advertised that have DAB, but the ad makes no mention of it, you just have to spot the fin below the rear window
