Silly excess miles at over 32ppm.
Is this normal excess mileage on jaguar leases?Anyone gone from a EV to the I-pace? Ive had a leaf 24kw for just over 4 years and its a great/cheap car to run but I fancy a change. Now I have a LTD company it seems crazy not to change to a new EV in April given the zero BIK, however, I bought an Ariel Atom last year on the man maths calculation the Leaf has and will continue to costs me bugger all!! Another leaf or e-golf wont be a problem but I am really going to have to do some sorcery to get the ipace on the list!!

Stratstone are advertising £549.93 inc Vat ppm for an S and £598.92 in Vat for an SE 6k PA over including a free wall box and charging card. Silly excess miles at over 32ppm.

seems the 2020 BIK is driving up prices, i saw drivelectric doing SE @ £450 over the summer, jumped back to £500 quickly and its now £620 so well out my reach
To anyone who is leasing through Jaguar Contract Hire on the cheap 18 month rate from last year, have you approached them about a lease extension yet, and what kind of figures have they quoted?
Mine doesn’t go back until December so it’s a bit early for me to enquire, but just wondering what responses those of you that have had your vehicles for longer have had?

I spoke to them a few weeks ago. 6 months was £490ish, 12 months was £570ish, but.......
I then raised the subject of infrormal extension......
Result. Keep it as long as you like at the original price... mileage prorated.
Others over on SpeakEV have checked and go the same answer.
Worth ringing them and checking....

Thanks Jasper3.0, keeping informally at the same rate and with pro-rata mileage would be pretty much the ideal outcome!
I will call them in a few months and post up details of the quotes I receive for a formal extension, along with whether or not they tell me the same regarding informal extensions.

Apologies if I digress a little from the thread title but I’d love a iPace as my next company car. Whilst I keep the 4C Spider for some fun the draw of tax saving is too much so the Giulia is going. I’ve narrowed it down to three S version of it or a Tesla 3 Long Range. Ready to order either.
My heart says Jag as it looks so, so special whereas the Tesla looks like a duck (at least from the front). My head however points to the numerous super charging stations around the country and overall infrastructure to support them.
Anyone else have this battle and what drew you to the iPace in the end. For reference I do occasional 250 mile round trips which seem far more complex to plan than the Tesla.

It wasn’t a choice for me, we were looking for an EV and the ipace deal came along. The choice that I and others on the deal a wrestling with is what to do next. I have looked at the Tesla vs. The ipace. Putting charging aside for a moment, I think that the ipace is a nicer place to be, with a local dealer network to support if things go awry. With regards to charging, I am in the same boat as you, with occasional 200+ mile trips. Yes the Tesla network in more convenient and yes the car will charge faster. But. The nine Tesla network is expanding exponentially, with companies such as polar and Instavolt making big investments. (You have to ignore Ionity as they have just priced themselves out of the market for the majority of non VAG cars).
I did a trip back and forward to mid wales over the Christmas period, with a reasonable stops in both directions. Long enough for a coffee and a wee!
Once you get used to the car and how to plan (abetterrouteplanner) then it is pretty much stress free. Especially if you build in a bit of fat in your planning.
The car itself has been faultless, the incremental updates have improved the infotainment and H264 has made an improvement in consumption (especially in eco). With H264 we now (allegedly) have a wide range of modules that can be SOTA. And there is supposed to be charging speed improvements coming in Q1.
Would I have another one. Yes in an heartbeat.
I’m sure there will be a Tesla owner along soon to tell me that I am wrong and having no real dials, single display, fart mode etc.is better 😀
Be aware the jag can in winter have a range as low as 140 miles. So your 250 mile trip could involve a lot of stopping.
Ecotricity only give you 45 mins charge, which IME gives you about 60% ish. So in winter you might be looking at diving into a service station after only say 80-100 miles. This is because ecotricity don't have many fast chargers.
At the stations I have used there has only been one. That's mental IMHO.
Also I have seen them out of order.... so then what do you do!?
On the other hand Tesla seem to have at least 3 or 4 chargers, in some cases 10+.

This will need to be addressed pretty quickly with the 0% bik.Ecotricity only give you 45 mins charge, which IME gives you about 60% ish. So in winter you might be looking at diving into a service station after only say 80-100 miles. This is because ecotricity don't have many fast chargers.

The answer is to avoid Ecotricity at all costs. There are multiple options just off the motorway networks that have multiple plugs and are almost always working.Ecotricity only give you 45 mins charge, which IME gives you about 60% ish. I think pretty much that anyone with a EV that has been released in the last 12-18 months have given up with ecotricity.
Some really useful bits of information there.... apologies but can the IPace ‘fast charge’ in the same way the Tesla can ie 150 miles ish in 30 minutes when out and about at selected charge points?
If so does this charge speed only work for certain cars... why do I ask? Well having watched Harry Metcalfe go from charge point to charge point (most either full of Nissans or broke) it seemed a stressful existence turning up at a petrol station or services praying that the charging points would be free.

The I-Pace should take 100kW, but only if the conditions are right, this applies to all EV's. Example from Tesla: Link
If charging within the ~0-50% state of charge region with a warm battery (such as after a motorway drive) you'll get the full charge rate up to 100kW, above ~50% the car will derate the charging rate on a steady slope. In laymans, it get more difficult to squeeze in the electrons as it the battery gets more full.
My take on this is its most effective to run the car down to around 20 miles range, ~10%, then blast it on the 100kW charger until I see around 110 miles range, ~50%. Assuming no losses and a 90kW battery this takes ~20 minutes. After this I move on as its a losing battle thereafter and invariably this will get me where I need to be.
