They're definitly premium on par with the German three, luxury is a different matter because an A Class isn't a luxury car nor is an E Class that imo is reserved for CL/SL/S/G Class cars.
So an E class isn’t but an XF is?

Jags are alright until some screws a "leaper" on a modern one, its not 1964 any more, it looks st on an anything that never came with one.
Why does it worry you so much? What business is it of yours what someone else does to their car?

But their image has always been knocked, even on here: ive has countless arguments over the years when we talk about the jaguar flagship from the late 80s/early 90s. On the back of their le mans wins (beating porsche and mercedes), they produced a supercar which was, for some time the fastest car in the world and held the lap record at the nurburgring, and won its clas at le mans

...only to be dismissed as "too wide" and "has the engine from a metro". Hopeless.
I'll be the first to acknowledge and respect the fact that some folk adore the XJ220 . Sorry , but I didn't - because it was indeed too wide, as well as too long and having gigantic overhangs . Its engine was indeed from a Metro - albeit the sort of Metro few could buy , on account of having an engine where the back seats went . In the Metro 6R4 , it sounded like a Ferrari 246 F1 car . But -oops - in the Jag , it sounded like a bag of spanners and was one of the reasons some buyers walked , having been sold the idea of a V12 4wd car .

I was very impressed with a display of beautifully cared fro XJ220s at Silverstone Classic , and they look fab from the front but I'll take a svelte F40 please .

Here you go.

Took a while to get it looking right, but pretty much got there eventually.

Looks exactly like my XFR. Facelift in Italian Racing Red. And I love it. I've owned it two years now and have had numerous BMWs in the past to compare it to. I actually also currently own an F80 M3 as well. The XFR is just such a nice car to be in and drive. Quiet, comfortable, very quick when you need it to be, incredible B&W stereo etc. I would choose it every time over the M3 for long journeys or where I just want to get there feeling relaxed. The M3 is on another level when it comes to handling but that is to be expected. That is not a criticism of the XFR which handles very well in my view (considering the size of the car).

The XFR is rarer than the M if that is anything to go by. It quite simply means fewer were sold! I don't think I have seen more than 2 or 3 others on the road in the time I have had mine; and one XFR-S which is owned by someone who lives a few miles away so I used to see it on the drive.

Do I think the Jag is considered "luxury". Personally I view it as a very nicely finished car which is great to own and drive. It generally gets positive comments. It is a step up from a 3 series but probably on par from what I have experienced when having a look at an M5. I don't personally view Jaguar as a luxury brand but times change and things move on. I would be highly unlikely to have owned one of the previous generation Jags going back past the X Type. Maybe those knocking Jag haven't owned or driven one? Just an observation as I would probably not have considered one until my brother got one. The XFR was actually his second XF which I bought from him after having it on loan for a period when he was out of the country.

I will add that I think the current generation of XF are not quite as good having had one as a courtesy car when mine was in for a service. It doesn't feel quite as "special" and the internal materials not quite as good as the generation I have.

I think Jaguar sell one luxury product and that is the XJ. As a brand they are premium just like all the Germans. I would say in terms of car brand there are only really four mainstream players that are truly luxury and they are Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley and Rolls Royce. Each of the German brands, similar to Jaguar, have one or two models that would be considered luxury in my view.
