F Type v8 2019 sound system

Hello All,

Looking at purchasing a F-Type V8 AWD 2019

Finally found one that almost ticks every box we were looking for except the sound system...

It has the standard meridian sound system.

Is there much of difference between this system and the Surround Sound option?
Has anyone owned one or the other that can share there thoughts on this?

There’s normally 4 decent speakers at the rear on a V8 F-Type.

I wouldn't worry about missing out on the surround.

I found the surround settings on my 2014 R gave a very harsh sound so I switched them off. Even then I never really enjoyed listening to music in the car.

If audio quality is important to you then take it somewhere for an after-market upgrade.

I've got the 770W in my V6 - most definitely an upgrade from the absolute standard Jag outfit but I don't know if you'd really notice much of a tonal difference between the two Meridians aside from being able to crank it without distortion.

Also, as noted, you've got 4 excellent speakers and soundtrack stuck on the back anyway...

I would recommended you play something like "Billie Myers - Kiss the rain", from a USB drive if you can, to test the speakers.

It's known that the driver door speakers can rattle with a bit of bass playing through them.
Although not a problem with the speakers themselves, it's more to do with the sound deadening materials in the door and lack of padding/wrap around the wires.

Have recently become the proud owner of 2016 f type R regarding the sound system I have the Meridian 330 w system ,no cd player but usb stick port to be honest I just love listen g to the fantastic noise it makes very rarely listen to any music but the 330watt system is pretty impressive have not experienced the surround sound system to compare.
