I'm looking for the always reliable PH wisdom on which F-Type coupe model to go for.

I've had my heart set on a mk1 2019/20 v6s 380 AWD for about the past year. I'm now in a position to purchase, but over the past week I've had my eye turned by the mk2 P450 after watching Harry's review on YT. I can't quite make my mind up about the mk2 front end design, but it's definitely growing on me the more I see it.

I test drove a v6s 380 last summer and the noise was just amazing. The pops and bangs in dynamic mode turned me into an over excited teenager. I haven't driven a P450 so can't compare noise or performance (I'm very keen to hear from folks who have driven both). I've read that the overrun pops and bangs have been muted due to emissions...

I've discounted the full fat V8R as I think it will all get a bit silly in my hands (somewhat lacking self control).

Any specific options that are a must? (pan roof, climate pack and 20" wheels already on my list). Is there any major difference between the two seat designs besides aesthetics? I'm 6"2".

So what is the general consensus on which direction I should head in? Likely to be making a purchase in next few weeks if the right car comes up.

I tried the P450 (rear wheel drive) and an R (awd) at a Jaguar driving event and liked the P450 very much - seemed a very nicely balanced package. It just felt “right” and I actually warmed to it more than the R. Still plenty quick enough and you can always remap to get an extra 100bhp+ at a later date.
Less pops and bangs than the older cars but still a great sound.

I had a 380 RWD for a bit.

You're spot on with the panoramic roof and climate pack IMO as essential.

If you can get one, the performance seats are another great option as I found them a lot better.

19 onwards (and some of 18) get the upgraded widescreen media unit which is significantly nicer.

As far as I can see the P450 interior is really no different apart from the digital cockpit so that doesn't do much for me.

So unless you have your heart set on a V8, I'd go for the V6S.

The front end looks crap on the facelift. I’ve been toying with the idea of a pre-facelift R AWD but can’t bring myself to drive a car of lower quality than my XFR-S.

I had both, the f type is a better steer and sharper looks.

That wasn't my arguement.

Test drove the new P450 last year in the summer when we were looking at F Type.

Was great to drive, had all the new tech etc. Though was missing one key ingredient, sound it’s was mute. You had to work to the red line to get any kind of theatre, which meant you were at licensee loosing territory very quickly.
Some may like this though not for me in this day in age.

In the end we end up with a 2019 V8 AWD Dynamic in British Racing Green, all importantly it sounds amazing, yes it doesn’t have the digital cockpit though prefer the dials.

I know you mention about the V6s and one thing I noticed on them similar to the v8s was about the seats in the 2019 models.
Spec wise on these I’d go for climate pack 2 which includes heated and cooled seats. Or performance seats in suede which give you heat seats also.
You’ll see on the 2019/20 models heats seats were not a standard fit, though heat steering wheel was.
Other spec I’d go for is:
-Blind spot assist
-Suede interior
-Power tail gate
-Surround Sound Meridian
-Panoramic roof
-Black Pack Exterior
-Black Pack Interior
-20” alloys
-Flat Bottom Steering Wheel
-High Beam assist
-Parks Aids / Camera

Anyone know when they started fitting GPFs to the V8 F Type as I guess that’s when they they started getting quieter?
