My colleague here in NZ is looking at buying an XFR.
I pulled the spec-sheet for it from Jaguar and the following information comes up:
Transmission: 8-Speed Automatic AWD
Now, I wasn't aware the XFR was available in 4WD, all the reviews I've seen of them seem to indicate they're RWD. But then again, Wikipedia states that in the UK market, only diesels were available with AWD.
I'm picking the build-sheet is correct, I'd just not heard of them in 4WD before. Can anyone shed any light?

The X250 XF was available in AWD in some markets with certain engines but I wasn't aware that the XFR had that option anywhere. I've only done a bit of quick googling just now but I can't find anything conclusive either way. What I can say though is that it's far from unheard of for the Jaguar build sheets to be incorrect, I can't access mine any more since they nobbled the free TOPIX accounts but I'm sure there was something incorrect on the one for my current XKR.

It wouldn't be hard to tell whether the car in question does have AWD or not on visual inspection, simply turn the steering to full lock in one or other direction and the drive shafts should be visible.

Yeah, going to see the car today and will look to see if there's any front driveshafts on it. We're not worried if it is or isn't really, but it was just a peculiarity I picked up on that I wasn't aware of. Will be interesting if it is, as I imagine an AWD R isn't common at all.
