IIRC at the time Jaguar could sell all the E-Types they could make so didn't feel they need to give/lend the film makers any cars. Short sighted in hindsight, hindsight is always a wonderful thing. Sir William was never keen on investing or any any other form of spending money.

I read this as Craig, as in Daniel Craig and was thinking WTF, DC wasn’t involved back then…!

The same thing (unless we’re mixing genres here) happened with The Saint, with the Roger Moore era Saint ending up with the P1800S. When The Saint with Ian Ogilvy was rebooted Jaguar couldn’t fall over themselves to supply a XJ-S.
