PASSENGER WINDOW DROP

can anyone help with this problem or heard of it happening to my 99 xk8..normal opperation of the door opening would result in the window dropping a bit from the rubber then as door closes window returns once door is closed.
my problem is after you close the door the window will not return to the closed position and to further annoy if i open close the door a few times the window keeps dropping by the same small amount each time and wont return..unles using the actual window close button..

Easy fix. Resulted from a disconnect from battery?

Lower window and keep finger on button, there will be a click, raise window and keep finger on button, lower again and will hear a click. Window should be reset, do same for other one.

it can also be caused by a dodgy battery

This isn't just a Jag issue, the misses' Merc does something just like this too. If the battery is disconnected. The windows forget where up and down are.

Hmm, dodgy battery, try 3 clicks down 3 clicks up.

This is the cure!

Quite right it is the cure. However if the car battery
is low maybe due to a cold spell the problem will persist

Had the same problem at work last week
turned out to be a faulty door handle/lock.
you cant just fit a new one it has to be programed to the car.
(tried the battery disconnection and setting the switches first)
