Well, finially sold the TT and am now on the hunt for a good XK8.
I love my music. It doesn't have to be loud but quality is important to me.

How much better is the XK8 Harmon Kardon (HK) stereo over the standard? How can I tell if the HK stereo is fitted? Was it a popular option and can it be retro-fitted?
Lastly, do all XK8s have a 6 CD stack system?

Thanks in advance,
L33.

All XK's have the boot mounted 6xCD Autochanger as you could only have a cassette in the front.

As for the HK stereo, iirc this was fitted to the pre '02MY cars (though i could be slightly out). The standard stereo has always been pretty good in the XK though you can tell the difference with the subwoofer & amp.

You can't retrofit it either, though I have seen a bloody crazy 3rd party amp and double sub woofer set up on the rear parcel shelf.

Good luck in your hunt for a XK8, why not go for an 'R' you dont have to use the extra 100 BHP all the time but is is there when you want it.

There is also a good club for the XK8/Rs with a lively members forum, log into www.xkec.co.uk
