Does anybody out there know the answer to this? (prompted by news of C-XF concept)I have 4L V8 S Type which I believe has 'restricted' top end of 155mph (on private roads of course!)Just wondering if anyone-Phil Hopkins maybe?- knows what un-restricted top speed should be.

Not intending to try it-just curious as you hear of M5s & the like being capable of 180-190 de-restricted.

Hi I know its not quite the same but we have had them running at over 200 mph on our rolling road once the limiter has been removed and a few tweaks carried out.

Best regards

What sort of gear ratios do you need to fit to get that sort of speed?

Thanks Paramount. That IS interesting-mind you maybe subject to your answer to A8Hex's query !! I suppose also rolling road figure lacks wind resistance too !

Maybe I should ask you sometime the cost of those "tweaks".

I have a XKR de-limited and a few other tweeks.

Have had 185 out of it, had to ease off as catching up traffic VERRY FAST.
Would think should be good for 192, max power in 5th

Don't think Jaguar have ever released any figures speculative or otherwise Sprinter so your best bet is to speak to people like NormanD, the chap from paramount or the bloke from Racing green who all post here.

Thanks all for replies. I know that Paramount & Normand D's replies are mainly XK/R figures but I think it's quite revealing that here we have a classic mainstream British production machine with UK-designed & built motors (?) capable of nudging the 200 mark yet nothing's ever really made of it-even unofficially. Let's hope new XF lives up to expectations-I see the C-XF is quoted as 185 VMax but will probably be limited to usual 155.
Cheers all thumbup
