XJ8 Accelerator Pedal Shenanegans
Discussion
I've tried a search but have drawn a blank...
Now, I'm not unduly worried about this, what I hope is a minor, fault with the old XJ. Twice now in the past five weeks the accelerator pedal has ceased to function whilst travelling at speed (60-70mph). Engine still fine, no lights come on, all other knobs and whistles functioning and able to cruise to a halt. Just like taking your foot of the gas. Pedal doesn't respond, but sitting on the hard should for a minute, engine still on, gives enough time before I can accelerate away. Bit odd. Any ideas?

Sounds similar to the infamous throttle sticking issue. See Broadbean747s great post on the main Xj issues (item 3) www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=195961&f=85&h=0&hw=xj8
Hope this helps. If it is the same problem there appears to be a reasonably easy fix.
