Motorola Star Tac (XJR) programming advice needed

Can anyone help me? I`ve just bought a 2001 XJR (Fanstastic aren`t they!)and I need to programme the phone with my own numbers. I`ve inserted my SIM card and it all works OK. I can make calls perfectly by conventional dialling using the keypad on the fascia.
But nowhere in the handbook does it tell me 1) how to erase all the previous owner`s stored numbers 2) how to introduce my own and 3) how to access my stored numbers on a simple memory fast-dialling basis (i.e.: 1 for Home, 2 for office etc.)as one does on a normal mobile.
The relevant Audio/Phone handbook doesn`t refer to this and there isn`t a specific Motorola Star Tac handbook.

I can'r remember how to do it. Been a while since I used a StarTac - I had a quick Google & turned up this page
