AUDI TT MYSTERY DONK NOISE?

CAN ANYONE SHED A LIGHT ON WHY MY MATES TT MAKES A DONK NOISE WHEN HE FIRST DRIVES IT AND STEER IT. AFTER A WARM UP IT GOES BUT OCCASIONALLY DOES THE MYSTERY DONK AGAIN
IT IS DRIVING HIM MAD EVEN HIS MECHANIC CAN'T FIND IT

How loud is the donk?

audible on pulling away hard left or right sounding like a worn ball joint or broken spring,but these have been checked and found ok?

Could be a dodgy top strut mount. I had this on a quattro and never chased it down. I think it was just a bush loading up or something.

Never bothered, flogged the car. However, could also be time for new track rods...
