Passat key, re-sync??

I have a 2000 Passadt TDI 115 which the control box went on last week, I have replaced the box but the key needs to be re-synchronised to operate the remote central locking.

Does anyone know the sequence????

1 - Press either the open or close button on your radio wave key once for approx. 1 second. The vehicle will remain locked. The control unit will however, recognise a valid code.
2 - Now lock or unlock your vehicle using the key
3 - The key bite is recognised as the valid mechanical code. A new code is defined between the key and the control unit.
The Sync procedure is complete.

This must be complete within 1 minute.
