Audi/VW 1.8 Turbo Engine Specs

Can anyone tell me what diffrences there are between the 150/180BHP Audi 1.8T engine and the 225BHP version. Are there any mechcanical revisions or is it just down the the electronics.

The major difference is bigger turbo and twin intercoolers on the 210/225

There are so many variations of the 1.8T its hard to know the differences between them unless you know the three letter engine code.

In short

150 BHP uses K03 turbo and is non VVT
180 BHP uses K03 sport turbo and has VVT
225 BHP uses K04 tubo, VVT, twin intercoolers and large injectors

225 has forged crank. but there are people running 300BHP on the cast ones no problem.

Except... In the Octavia 4x4, it is rated as a 150bhp engine but has the same 3-letter code of the 180bhp vRS and the K03S turbo and VVT.

I believe the 225bhp engine in the TT and S3 have stronger internals too.

The Jabbasport website lists the engine codes along with power estimates of what they claim to deliver with a remap.
